We recently had an airconditioning unit temporarily fail in our server room. It was during a relatively hot few days last month. It brought an issue we really hadn't anticipated. The servers started to get hot and we got temperature warnings from our DRAC cards on the servers.
Anyway we are looking to set up some kind of redundant AC system in our server room. If possible some way to automate as well. The company doesn't have thousands to spend though.
Anyone know of a good setup/system?

I work in a large company in Cork and our server room has a good system. Obviously its bound to be somewhat expensive but there is no harm in giving you the name of the company and their contact details if your interested in inquiring about their solutions...

Aldi had a portable AC unit a while back. Try the likes of B&Q, check the ratings, if you are used to a few KW then a few hundred watts ain't going to cut it.

Could you get something like that and set if for a higher temperature than the main AC unit ? You'd have to set the temperature such that it came on seldom/never while the main unit was working.

Also you should be able to prioritise your servers, so that some of the less needed ones power down at a lower temperature and reduce the heat loading, or maybe have your more valuable ones power down first depending on how you view things.
