Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. Upscaling DVD Recorder with DivX support?

Is there such a thing? I know there are DVD recorders with a HDMI output but none of them mention that they upscale. I'd love if Pioneer had one as any DVD equipment I've ever used from them has been flawless. Failing that though, can anyone recommend a decent DVD Recorder (doesn't have to have a HDD as we have Sky+) that supports DivX and upscales? It has to be multiregion too of course. Thanks!

    Samsung HD850.

I have one, it does really what it says on the box and does divx.

Havn't looked yet about the DVD recorder.

I have the HD850 at the moment and although it's pretty good at DivX there is certain things about it that are annoying. The constant message about not supporting HDMI Audio, the way if you leave a DivX paused too long it'll stop. Also, I don't know if this is something that all DivX players suffer from, but if you try fast forwarding or rewinding a DivX movie, the sound goes way out of synch and that's with Packed or unpacked bitstreams.

most dvd players will stop if you leave them paused for too long, whether playing dvd's or divx...helps avoid screen burn in on tv's that suffer from it...probably helps your laser a lot as well.

You can switch system messages off you know! :)

I dont use audio via the HDMI to the tv as I use an external amp, I used to the the "HDMI audio is not supported" message untill I switched system messages off.
