Yeah, i went through a phase of watching 4-5 episodes of that a night for a few weeks, got through to the filler episodes in no time...

The animated batman movies are better than any of the live action ones... Well Mask of the Phantasm and Mystery of the Batwoman are anyway... I wasn't crazy about Sub Zero.

The new animated Superman movie was disappointing actually. Main because it reduced Lex Luther to a lame comic relief character, which is a shame after all the great work that was done with hsi character in Justice League. Some great Superman versus Brianiac battles though. It was still way better than Superman Returns too.

still dont understand after all the excellent material the superman and justice league animated series created with brainiac that they never use him in the films.

also animated lex luthor (spec. JLU one) still the best.


and Batman Beyond Return of the Joker is one of the best batman films as well.

I cant remember the show at all, all i remember is i loved the theme song...but looking at that, i now know i liked the baddies costumes aswell.


This...I loved despite only ever seeing 3 episodes. Its the original Jap opening, though I remember the English one clearly cause it has them chasing a trian and the police crashing a steam roller into the thames. Cant believe parts of Ghibli worked on this. I so so so so so very much want to watch this again.

also i loved the music...though i remember the english one picking up pace more. Always thought of the sonic 2 ending song when i heard it.

No it wasn't Tintin, but that is another great show. I just found it, it was called "Belle & Sebastian", great show. Couldn't find any vids on youtube for it as there is a band now of the same name. Here's the theme music

Don't remember the sherlock hound one, but i do remember the diplodoes, and one other one, around the world in 80 days and then there was dog tanian and the three musketeers.

As for adults watching kids shows, why do you think they have adult advertisements like loans and stuff on the likes of Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon. its because they know adults are watching.

Also a big fan of the Rugrats as well. think they are very funny. the newer ones where they are older are crap though

I still love Dangermouse. And the music from Rhubarb and Custard. I love Roadrunner too. Actually loads of old kid's shows. No more inane than watching Coronation Street or Emmerdale. And at least cartoons have believeable plotlines and well developed characters

I've been guilty of reviewing a few old Kids shows that I remember fondly from my youth but I have to say that (with a few exceptions) it's a pretty hollow pursuit.

Best thing to do is if you're curious about an old show then just watch 1 ep of the show in question. If it doesn't blow your mind then just give up on it straight away on watching more because within a kids show (esp pre-90s stuff) there is a set formula with very little variation and you'll essentially just be watching the same crap again and again. As a result you'll just end up ruining your fond memories .

i think its nostalgic to watch old programs, some of them where quite good dangermouse ,battle of the planets etc, but i think what happened in the 80,s was there was only a limited no of channels so kids watched swapshop or blue peter ,they had massive audience figures,now with digital tv ,kids are watching smash hitstv , poptv ,mtv 3, or 1 of 10 kids channels ,so theres only a few programs that have the massive cultural impact of say TOP of the pops.When you have only 6 channels to watch ,a good cartoon or kids program tends to have a big effect ,and nowadays theres kids programs on all the time if you have cable tv.I remember there was programs on like going live bbc, with music,comedy ,interviews ,nowadays its mostly american cartoons or else pop shows like cduk.Most of them like the ateam were rubbish.Like music now the tv chanells are dividing different genres or niche audiences,the mass audience is getting smaller apart from shows like xfactor ,or dr who.

i just mute volume when ads come on, or on sky it gives you time to see whats on the epg,whats worth recording later or tommorow/i like american comedys or documentarys,the ads on sky tv are awful anyway.

Its not as if it troubles me, more I just wonder why bother. Mind you I dont buy DVDs full stop. Its odd, say a classic comedy like Father Ted or Only Fools and Horses. Theres been times Ive found an old episode Id videoed and seen repeated a million times, and I might decide to sit down and watch it, and for some weird reason I wouldnt be laughing quite as hard as I would when watching a regular old repeat on tv.
