Hi, I just tried out my laptop in a new room in the house and then suddenly I am connected to the internet. Why is this?
I assume it's wireless internet because my computer tells me I am connected to "conor".
I am just wondering is this free internet or am I paying for it?
Am I evesdropping on someone else's internet and seeing their files?
I someone looking at my websites while I am on the internet?

    Is this legal?

    Any help would be appreciated.

You seem to have inadvertently connected to somebody elses unsecured wireless network.
is this free internet or am I paying for it?
Free to you, not to the account holder.

No. Well, you won't be able to see what he is doing, though he may be able to see what you are doing, if he has logging enabled on his wireless\internet router.

you're just using one of your neighbour's connections. Some people would be of the mindset that as they haven't encrypted their network, that they have let it open on purpose for their neighbours to use freely.

Others would see it as stealing bandwith..

    I'm ambivalent.
