I was wondering could anyone tell me where I can get the air conditioning unit in my MR2 refilled with gas? It had to be disconnected for the timing belt change and now I need it refilled. Thanks for the help!

It's just plain ol' freon put into the A/C units of cars or houses. Try goldenpages.ie

Depending on the year of the car ( older than 1994 I think) you may find it difficult to get the right gas - R12. After this the gas used is R134a which is not suitable for older systems without some modifications to your car. Coolant Oil, Dryer.

In my experience cars using the older gas have a much better A/C performance than newer models. E.g an Alfa 147 '05 takes about 10 to 15 mins to drop cabin by about 10C, a '90 Prelude takes less than 5 mins. This is when outside temp is >27C - rare in Eire I know but . . .

The point here is that if your car uses R12 then try to get it refilled with the same rather than "upgrade" to R134a.
