Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    isn't rooney and scholes banned?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,589 ✭✭✭✭Necronomicon

Looking forward to this one. Although looking at Arsenal and Liverpool yesterday, not a foregone conclusion. Pitty we can't see Carrick making his Premiership debut for United, but I still expect enough of the players there for 3 points.

When United beat Ipswich 9-0. Boy did I have a big grin on my face when that happened.

Give it time, flukey goal or not, fulham could concede a few more in the 2nd half if utd go at them and dont just settle for 4.

Disgraceful challenge by Brown on Giggs. Lucky to be still on the pitch.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,386 ✭✭✭d22ontour

Brown should have got a red for that tackle.

Good opener, expected a tough game being the first one.

Saha and Ronney look sharp and like they can link well together. Scholes showed what me missed last season, dictated the play and got every move going.

    Quality start Utd

A good start to the league, with the Pool and the Gunners dropping early points it sets a marker for ourselves. Never mind how poor the opposition were, you still have to go out and beat them.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,595 ✭✭✭Giruilla

I want to see Brown ****ing banned for that tackle on Giggs. That was absolutely disgraceful with clear intent on injuring Giggs, no effort to play the ball at all! Fair play to Giggs for having a swipe at him after, I'd have ****ing killed him for that. how the ref gave a yellow i don't know, if he saw it was a bad takcle theres know was he didnt see the two feet studs in the air?!

They just didn't sell. I'd expect this to be the norm this season when United are facing the smaller clubs. There should be plenty of chances for United fans to visit Old Trafford this season if they really want to.

The Glaziers and their security weren't at the game... ;)

Didn't get to see the game, had a football match... Did the performance live up to the score? I'm looking forward to MOTD2...

As somebody who wouldnt care much for Utd ;) The 20 minutes in the beginning I saw theyplayed really well and played some good football.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,479 ✭✭✭wheres me jumpa

First off Fulham were awful, so Im not getting too excited. Nonetheless a good start that will build up a lot of confidence.

The big thing for me today was the pace at which we played. It has always been the pace at which we counter attack that has won us games, the last few years we seem intent on removing that element from our game.

Scholes back to his usual self and Solskjaer off the bench too, two big pluses.

Saha is totally different to RVN

Think it was a good run out for the lads, lot of confidence built. Gave ole a good half hour. He'll probably start with Saha up top on wednesday.

Ronaldo took his goal very well

Some good goals today with Ronaldo and Ronneys 2nd being the best.

As for Browns tackle, you will be lucky to find a worse tackle all season... Giggs was very lucky

Id say he'll get a ban for that.

Was he not involved with a similiar incident wiith a portsmouth player last season? Davies i think.

Apperantly they had a falling out a spurs and davies accused brown of trying to break his leg in a tackle.

    could be completely wrong though.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,479 ✭✭✭wheres me jumpa

Anyone got a link to the tackle? He did committ a terrible tackle last year also.
