If you don't know, then go for it every 6 months, unless you do about 40k miles/year then every 3-4 months

It might be in your car manual somewhere or the person you bought it off should have told you. I was recommended that I service mine every 6,000 miles.

I'd stick with what ever it says in the manual - once you use the correct grade oil and good quality spare parts.

There is no harm in over-servicing the car, especially if you want to keep it for a long time.

Personally, I'd stick with the manufacturers intervals. IMO, over servicing simply costs more money.

Thanks guys, never even thought to check the manual, will check it when i am going home and see what it says. I dont drive too much, prob between 100-150 miles a week i think.
