Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Alex McLeish is who id put my money on, while i dont personally see him as world class, he has won things and unless im mistaken is still unemployed.
    Wildcard: Kevin Keegan
Its gotta be someone unemployed (i think).

    David O'Leary roflol !!!

TBH they don't need a world class manager they need an experienced championship manager to help them survive the season. Its already looking like they are in deep **** !!!

    Hoddle.

Its been rumoured that he is to be kevin blackwells replacement. while that rumour hs been denied by bates, maybe hoddle has said he'd be interest in a return to management.

I dont think curbishly would return to management at a championship club after many years at premiership level

Perhaps he's going to re-hire himself, with a pay rise?

What's Wim Jansen doing these days?

    Johnny Giles?!

    Big Jack!

I doubt even Quinn would dare to call someone "world class", if they've neither CL or international experience - so I'd say that rules out Curbs.

O'Leary is my serious guess. Semi-finalist in the CL might justify the tag in Quinn's head.

Just had another thought - Terry Venables, combining it with England job, like McClaren used to do.

    Roy Keane.

Im not sure why I care, I mean they would struggle in the eircom league. Hear what Quinn said about his players "they are simply not good enought". How unprofessional.

Stephen Kenny would be the man for the job but I doubt he would make the step down. :)

You think that this is the realistic aim? 4 games in (maybe 5 i cant remember) and you're talking about just survival?

They should be pushing for at least a play-off place IMO

When he said "World Class" i presumed he meant someone with management experience at the highest levels, not a world class player being thrown into his first management job. Not sure I'd like to be a Sunderland fan right now.

A bit late in the day to be spending it if they do? Not many teams want to sell their players now since the season has started.

Id say after the start Sunderland have had they would be glad of survival! They got tonked 3-1 at Southend last wkend FFS !

    Hahaha

    "You were a sh*t player and you're a sh*t manager!!"

Famous last words Roy? Let's see if you can do any better.

(would be very difficult to do worse, but best of luck...Keane for Ireland after doogle gets fired.)

They have played 4 league games and lost them all , they also lost 2-0 to bottom of the entire football league Bury . Keeping them up looks the realistic target .
