Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Armadillo's

A bit of a strange one this. My bike is a road racer and on my back wheel is a armadillo type. I have heard great things about this type so I decided to get one in Cycleways. I have survived a while over every bump going in the last month until I was going slightly downhill on a smooth piece of road in the Phoenix Park. All of a sudden I noticed that I was slowly getting a flat. I cursed the tire and these great Armadillos like mad but after checking could find no wear or tire on the tyre. I am wondering how the hell can I have a slow puncture on a smooth piece of road when this wheel had no problems when it hit a odd pothole etc. Any ideas would be great (changed tube and no probs going home)

May have been a problem with the tube near the valve, happens a good bit, especially on older tubes.

It could be a simple failure of the tube. Toward the end of the Wicklow 100 my back tyre blew - instant puncture. There was nothing wrong with the tyre - the tube (<1yr) just failed (I was able to patch it later). Under the high pressures of road tyres any imperfection will cause a problem. Hitting the pothole might have exposed the imperfection.
