    Hello Galwiegans!

Im heading to Galway for a stag weekend. We're just wondering where we should go out on saturday night!! Go friday and sunday sorted with other stuff. I'v put the options below that we're in the sticky above.

Just wanted to hear from locals, where they think the best niteclub is on a saturday night. We're all mid to late twenties. If you have any other suggestions that would be much appreciated. Thanks!

When push comes to shove, Cuba is the only club which is really worthwhile. it's entirely ubiquitous, as in anyone can go there. Whereas alot of other clubs have typical stereotypes and clientele.

    Whether that helps or not...?

I was on a stag in Galway a few weeks ago and went to the Warwick in Salthill and had a good night. Good age mix - I'm in my (early!) thirties and there was plenty of women there that age. Some of the 'niteclub' places in the city can be 19-24 yo's. depends what you are after.

The Warwick is undoubtably the best place to go - that is if you are willing to forego town (you're not missing out on much really when it comes to the clubs in galway city) - the Warwick offers a band on one end and DJ on the other (even though he has played the same tracks for the last few months in a row!) - Its a big venue with as I said, DJ, Band & Bar upstairs. It also has about 3 or 4 smoking areas.

It can get pretty packed and u can get stuck waiting for a drink for ages at the downstairs bars, my advise, head to the bar upstairs for quicker service.
The Warwick is fast becoming my favourite 'club' in galway! - plus its only walking distance for me to get home, beats queuing up for cabs in town :)

Central Park gets my vote, although the clubbers there are generally between the ages of 19-24. The older peoples version of CP's is Halo though. Could be worth a look.

For a stag night i take it your all not 18,if thats the case two clubs on Sat night either Halo(town) or The Warwick(salthill).Everywhere else has got a pretty young crowd and you'll feel ancient.Mind you walk in seperatley alot of the clubs dont take too kindly to pi55ed up stag parties.

All of them have dancing except Bazaar, not really a club.
Kings Head is best for newbies to Galway as it will be jammers with other newbies/ tourists/ stags/ hens/... There are bands but no dance floor and it's open late.

I hate most of the nightclubs around Galway, but if I were to decide, it'd be between the GPO and Cuba. Both offer good times out - this, of course, depends on who you're out with.

I much perfer pubs like Roisin Dubh, Massimos, Kings Head etc. Better to sit down and talk than standing up not being able to hear a word.

    Man, I'm getting auld.

I kinda prefer sitting around in a pub talking as well but sometimes you can't beat a club for good old fashioned - or eh, probably not exactly the right phrase there when it comes to nightclubs actually - fun.

In fact the last time I went to Cuba, my friend ended up dancing with a middle age man with a huge beard and his wife for abouy 5 minutes straight of swirls and swinging the auld fella around and everything - Frankly I was more mystified as to how the hell they actually got in but it was hilarious nonetheless (almost as funny as the time redhairguys shirt was ripped to shreds upstairs in cuba and he was left topless)

I told my friend about it when he woke up the next morning and he just said "Whaaaaaaat...?" with a strange look on his face. Then he remembered, just after he remembered attacking a hobo with a packet of doritos he stole from free-vo.

Cuba is always the source of great fun.

Ah yes! fun and games had by all!

I was then picked up by a bouncer and brought outside cause he thought i was troublemaking. But I explained my predicament and all was well again!

Though you are a cheeky little nipper, I'll admit that it made me laugh.

When is RHG not left topless?

Ahem... I'm only topless when it's hot... and I'm in the square/Sparch/Town/Work... etc etc.

    Bonjur!

Just thought i'd report back with the fallout, seeing as you were all so helpful!!

I was pushing halo as the venue (mostly due to what i saw going into halo), but in typical drunken fashion, hlaf the stag party walked straight past halo, and thinking they were going into halo, actually went into the central park!!

On the way in, 1 particularly drunken member of our group (not me) got talking to a bouncer -

Bouncer - "Am i gonna have to keep an eye on you lads tonight"
    Cue banter
Having passed the bouncers and walking in, my mate shouts back
"Ah you don't have to worry about him. He's looking after the rings!"
    Cue

We then spent the next 20 mins in summit talks to negotiate getting in. Half of them were already inside, but thankfully one of the bouncers was from near where we live and after alot of promises we eventually all got in!!

Must say, the talent was pretty impressive, better than an average night out in dublin! We also stayed in corrib village, which was good for a drunken laugh. I'll defo try to get back to Galway during the uni year next year!! Thanks for all you suggestions lads, proved useful in the end.
