Triple X are at 104 Oliver Plunkett St. Other Tattoo Studios you might try are
    Tattoo zoo 96 Paradise Place
Tattoo U2 in both Macroom and Mallow
    Raven Tattoo 35 Cornmarket

Best to do the leg work and look around for yourself.
Decide based on the cleaniness of the studio and the work of the individual artists, ask to see their port folios.

just stay clear of Raven...it sounds like a pretty simple design, but simple or not, he won't make a good job of it...

I'd personally recommend tattoo zoo, on south main street
but I like the guys in triple x's work aswell :)
There's another shop called tribal ink, I can't remember the name of the street it's on, but it's just off the coal quay... there's some nice work coming out of there aswell

Thanks, irishcrazyhorse. Also people are telling me to get it somewhere with a bit of cushioning to avoid pain..... does anyone know if it would be very sore below and to the right of the hip bone?

There is no easy place to be tattooed,I found my sternum grand but my lower back was a killer, the next person will tell you the opposite!
get it done where you think will look best and not where u think it will hurt least!
as well, close to bones but also really fatty areas hurt the most or thats what is ment to happen!
