New Car Advice.... Help Me Spend My Money

Hey everyone,

Im driving a 97 Mondeo Mk2 2.0L at the moment but i just got a new job recently and i think a bit of a trase up is in order.
Im looking for somthing a little more fun than practical, But there are to many choices out there
Plus i dont have the most experience.
Ive got about a 10-12K budget.

My first idea was a Ford Cougar, Then i was inspired by boards.ie and was going to inport a japanese car (Somthing Sporty).
Now i seem to have confused and lost myself

Anybody got any ideas? im thinking about anything from SAAB's to MR2's to FTO's

Yea the SAAB's are nice arnt they,
Drove one for a few months last year... SO much power :eek:

Ive heard mixed reviews about it, i have to say i do like my mk2, the cougar is meant to be based on it, and damn if it isnt a sexy machine

That's a bit harsh, Paul. I love the looks, but I'll concede it's not a great car. Pretty rare though, which is good

I'm right though!

my advice to you take 2k off your max budget and then go for something wild and use the 2k to not worry if something goes wrong.

I get the impression a Japmobile might not suit you. Something like the Saab 93 loaded and with leather if different and nice!

I have to say i do like the SAAB's allright.
But somthing original that there isnt thousands ofon the road woud be worth the extra money to me.

Not a very nice colour on that C70.

Wazzupdaz... if I was in your situation I would go to carzone and cbg and do a search on EVERYTHING from 7500-10500ish and don't put a limit on engine size etc... and post back anything that strikes you as interesting and ask for our comments!

Cheers Bazz, Thats a good list.
I Do really like the MR2 and nearly bought one last week, But before you buy a car as im shure you all know it is customary to sit in it first..... Now i happen to be 6ft 4, and funnily enough i didnt see this as a problem until i had to take off the cars Ttop so i could fit in ah well......


Ok Heres a Bit of a list just from what i imidiatly saw.
You might notice a bit of a coupe, sports, rareish car trend running through them, but i think thats what may be needed, A damn sexy machine with more engine than it knows what to do with :rolleyes:
