been doing some research on nissan primera's and from what i understand the older models are better than the new ie the 1996-1999 are much better than the 1999-2002, basiclly we're looking for an unbreakable as possible car[ i know i might be expecting 2 much] car 1.6-1.8 petrol , we need a car that can take serious miles, max budget 7000 .
any info on primera 's would be appreciated.

I'd through in the old Accord in there...should be able to pick one up easily for your budget.

I'd suggest a toyota avensis, I would suggest a camry but their 2.2.Being a Toyota fan I'm biased.

Toyota Carina E - damn the year. Don't get into all that nonsense. I put 175k on one, and a friend still has his at over 300k.

Why restrict yourself to petrol? If you're going to be doing serious miles, you should consider a diesel.

we have a diesel audi a4 now '99 love the car hate the problems.

my mother has a diesel avensis but she's doing half the miles we do,so dont know if there any better than A4.

also have a toyota carina E 96 1.6 [ 100k -but it was clocked b4 we got it-its nearing its end we're passing it on to family.

Mazda 626 is the way to go.

The nice thing about the 626 is it's underrated, which means it's generally cheaper than the Accord or Avensis.
