Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Laptop shutting down..

    Hi all,
    Please forgive me if this is in the wrong forum, i looked at security forum lol but i figured best not post it there!:)
    Ive formatted my laptop about a dozen times in the last couple months it seems and i keep getting probs with virus' on it...im currently running avg on it..ive not really got any kinda software on it cuz im having to format it so quick all the time..currently what's going on is the machine is shutting down with this error msg...

    When i first start up the laptop project1 also shows up(which has come up alot before too) AVG is finding a couple of virus' but what ever this is,is head wrecking as it's shutting down the laptop every 15-20 mins...
    im running xp its an older laptop....sorry this is so long..!!!

    Thats the Sasser virus, it was rampant a few months ago. Here is the link you want to help you fix it. That or this from the MS Knowledge Base will remove it.

    In order:
    Format, reinstall Windows, install Service Pack 2. Install AVG & (Kerio, or ZoneAlarm) firewall.
    Once you're on-line-straight away: Windows Update and an AVG update.

    It's not on a network by any chance?

    ran that link apperently it didnt find the sasser virus :( so im just after reformatting and im downloading the various updates now...god..dial up..ill b here all nite, dont suppose yah know about getting broadband to work at all??

    Edited to add: Karoma, no its not its just a single laptop...
