Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Netopia 2247 and D-Link DI-524 Is this possible ?

I am hoping someone may be able to answer this or point me in the direction of links that can help.

I had a D-LINK DI-524 connected to Eircom and the wirelss network was just fine.

Then Eircom sent me a new free router ;Netopia 2247, which I have decided to use instead. It is giving a better performance and I want to keep it. The D-Link has distance issues.

I now want to use the DI-524 as a separate wireless LAN connected into the Netopia to extend the range of the signal.

Is this possible? No amount of fiddling to date has got it to work. Would a WAP be a better option?

    Thanks

Put the netopia into bridge mode. Then set the dlink to handle the PPPoE settings for your DSL (i.e. username, password, etc). Instructions for bridging the modem are online.

No. When your PC wants to connect to the Netopia, you have to tell it what SSID to connect to, and what WPA password to use. There is no way to tell the 524 those settings, because it's designed to be a "server" rather than a "client".
