Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

dont know if this is the right forum but still i got a viris on my home pc and no exe files in windows xp will work so when i start up windows no programs will start in start up however movies still play because there .mov or .avi ect only .exe files wont play so no games no internet and no programs

i can get some programs to work when u dsouble click on a .exe file it asks you to select what program to use to open this file with.

so if i open a game game.exe it will ask what program to use and i click browze and game.exe to open and the game will play

or with my anti viris (anti vir) i try to open it same thing then i tell it to use antivir.exe to open antivir.exe ran full scan no problems

i still have no internet and most games wont work

whats the best plan of action should i put in the XP cd and get it to reapir the windows partation would i lose all other data like saved games and **** on my windows partition?

If you use System Restore, then rollback to a few days before it started happenig and if that doesn't work then use the Repair option in XP setup. It won't remove your games or other files, it'll just repair the previous XP install.

Did you, by any chance, run a key-generator for battlefield2142? There's one floating around the net at the moment that really f*cks up your PC.

do exe's start if you are in safe mode
have you run av in safe mode

it might also be worth taking ownership of system volume recovery whatsit so you can scan the files there in case they been infected too, but that's only for when the attempts at system restore don't work

a friend of mine deleted all file associations on his computer using regclean and the same thing happened. did you use a registry editor recently?

the way i fixed it was i set all exes to open with regcleaner (the only way i could get it to open) and then restored the associations using the program
