Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Smaller teams shouldn't be in international matches?

What would have happened if this was introduced 30 years ago? We would most likely have been in the lwer tier. Then when Charlton took over and we started getting our good team together we would have been in that lower tier for a few years and most likely missed out on Euro 88, which would probably have had us as bottom seed and not qualified for Italia 90 and so on. Meaning our first decent qualification chance might have been around euro 96 when the squad was on the way back done.

No, we would have been in the top tier. For many years before that Ireland was knocking on the door of qualification, such as under Eoin Hand. We finished 3rd a lot. So, we were in the top-32 and in the top tier. This divisioning proposal wouldn't have affected Ireland's performances at all.

I could do a check on it. But we also need to consider that the expansion of Uefa has added to the need for the tiering and that has accelerated in more recent years.
