Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

What website did you check? Have you tried having a look at the Motor Racing Marshalls Club of Ireland (http://www.mrmci.com/) website? I'm sure you'll find some information there or should be able to contact one of the head members via the site there.

Also, check out the marshall's forum on the Ten-Tenths boards (http://www.ten-tenths.com/). Lots of marshalls there from all over the world (including Ireland) who'll be more than happy to help or answer any questions you may have.

i am.. havent done much this year due to navigating and videoing... marsheling is great way of a way into the sport.. what part of the country are you in? its easy to marshal on a rally.. all you have to be is 18 and not drunk and they will put you on teh stage..

when you go to a meeting point ( you can eather find this on the rally website or by ringing the club) tell the main guy that its your first time and hell stick you on a quiet spot of stick ya with a experanced guy...

2 years ago i started marsheling.. last year i was out 15 times.. this got me know by the people and this year i havent marsheled once because ive eather been navagating or videoing it for a tv company.. so its a great way to start in the sport :) hope this helps if not ask for more

Cheers Anto. Ive emailed the Motor Racing Marshalls Club of Ireland twice but got no reply(irish motorsport bodies dont seem to be the best at getting back to you its not the first time:( ) So im planning on giving them a call. Id be more interested in track marshalling rather than rallying but ill definately take that into account. I might try to get out to a rally some time soon. Do you need any of the specialist equipment(overalls, boots etc.) for rally marshalling anto?

Ps. Im in Dublin. Probably not the best location but I drive so I dont mind travelling as long as its nothing mental.

Ha and for the many years I was a member of MRMCI they did everything they could to get new members, you'd think they'd at least reply to your e-mail.
Just to let you know they mainly marshall in Mondello but do the odd rally through out the year which are great craic.
As for the gear,MRMCI will provide you with overalls+gloves(for a price).I think you'll have to get your own boots, highly recommend steel toe cap boots.

If you still have no joy getting in touch with them drop me a pm and I'll get a few phone numbers for you.
Or you could take a trip out to Mondello when a car meeting is on and have a word with anyone wearing orange overalls, you can't miss them.:D :D

I'm going up to Kirkstown this weekend to compete so if you can send me a number or e-mail address i can hand it over to one of the marshalls and they will take care of it.

    And Scober found me! :p

It's more or less the end of the season now - we had all the last championship rounds for cars at Kirkistown last Saturday and it was also the last bike event at the weekend.

However, on the bright side, we are now into Rallycross season which is a good way to get an introduction to marshalling! There's a Rallycross this coming Sunday at Mondello (01/10/06).

Can you be at Mondello next Sunday at around 8:15?

Bring the following if you can:

Steel capped boots (or at least sturdy boots or shoes - no runners please!)
    A pair of workman's gloves
    Warm clothing
Rain gear (not yellow or red).
Enough food and drink to get you through the day.

Lunches are supplied, but it's always a good idea to have spare.

The club can provide you with overalls for your first few events until you decide if marshalling is for you. Once you've made that decision, a full set of marshalling gear, minus boots, can be purchased through the club at a discount.

So there you go! See you Sunday? :)

If you want any more info, ask here or PM me.

    Cheers,

    XM
