OMG IOL Download cap - help

I have had broadband for nearly 3 years and according to the broadband usage I have uploaded 2.95gb and downloaded 22gb.

This month I downloaded a couple of big files and signed up to Bebo and the uploaded figure for August is 0.67gb and 6.32gb downloaded ! WTF

I have not checked usage for about a year but felt that I might be a bit high because of one file in particular.

Will they charge me ? How much will it cost and when will they notify me ?

Can fluting around on Bebo have any effect ?

I haven't contacted them and nor do I intend to but do they charge for excesses ?:mad:

bebo flashboxes can be detrimental to caps

Why would they charge you - even the basic BT package has a 20GB/month "transfer limit" according to their support website.

Is the BT DSL stats page saying you're over the cap because it warns you if you have gone over the cap and even you're likely to exceed it, calculated from current usage. If there is no warning don't worry.

If he's had it for 3 years, he has been automatically upgraded to the 2MB package, which has a 20GB "cap". (Existing customers were upgraded to 2MB earlier this year and a new, cheaper 1MB tarrif was introduced).

That's the right place. You're nowhere near your limit, so stop worrying about it!

Never knew that. It is not quite 3 years but I am assuming that as I pay €30 per month, it would be the 2Mb package equivalent. I presume it is at the usage box that a flag would appear as I approach 18/19Gb ?

mines still stuck on 0GB up and down and apparently I havent logged in to use it once

Don't worry about it.
I downloaded 87GB one month and uploaded 36GB.
Nothing was said.

Yeah that happened to me before but i have never bothered checking because I was never downloading that much but I had an urge this month but now that I know that limit is 20Gb and the rest........

Took about 1 hour of phone calls to IOL and 2 callbacks to get my password from Tech Support. To be fair they have always rung me back although I have to ensure that i don't miss the calls.
