Its your typical argument here. The local/longtime surfers won't tell anybody where their lesser known surfing spots are.
On the one hand, they reckon that there isn't enough surf to go around, and they don't want some newbie ploughing into them or stealing their wave. A lot of new people don't really know surf etiquette.
On the other hand, the beaches are public and are everybodys property, skillful surfer or not.

Basically I'm saying that if someone posts up a name of a lesser known good surfing spot, they should not be flamed, or given abuse.
It is a persons right to share their knowledge, and intimidation won't be tolerated on this forum.

Please read this guide to surfing etiquette:

Also, please note that while you are perfectly within your rights to share your knowledge please keep in mind that local surfers usually don't appreciate spots being named online and it's usually considered bad form by most surfers. At the end of the day it's just down to showing a little respect.
