This might be the answer - Aiptek's "MyNote" digital Clipboard.

It's a standalone A4-size device that captures your notes on a 1,000-dpi touchscreen, saving it onto 32MB of internal memory for later uploading onto to a computer. The MyNote, which costs only 113 euros -- plus the price of five AAA batteries required to power tablet and pen -- can store up to 135 pages of notes, and even more if you put an SD card into the expansion slot. It's not a laptop, but it's got a 20-hour battery life and is a pretty cheap way of recording your notes digitally.

Well thats the basic premise of it, yeah, but no need to be so faceitous about it. It's a pretty handy way to get digital reproduction of your notes so you can print out multiple copies for revision etc... it's portable, it's light, it's small and it's pretty cheap.

Good find. If I didn't have a laptop already I'd consider getting something like this. You could start a new trend in UCDD...

Most people's writing would fool any OCR program. So then why would you buy a very expensive writing pad and ink/toner cartridges too!!!
