Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Ok,

Just got the bb in to the apt - works fine on my laptop (which has inbuilt wireless), but i need to get a wireless card for my pc.

I'm looking for some advice on which cards are nest - or does it really matter.
what min specs should i focus on?

    what's the average price range?.

of to do a bit of googling, but would appreciate any suggestions.

    thanks,

    D.

General rule of thumb stick with the same vendor where possible.

In theory, any certified wireless card should work. In practice, not all vendors implement wireless the same way. So, get a PC card from the same vendor as your wireless router / access point.

cool thanks - the eircom router is a netopia, so I'll keep a look out for one of their cards..

    thanks again,

Ok, unless I'm blind, I'm only really seeing this wireless device for a PC.

Considering that Netopia appear not to sell too many PC WIFI accessories, you should be safe with another brand. I use a Linksys WMP54G and it works fine for me. Tested it on Linksys routers and DLink.

Netopia only really do router/gateway stuff. Most of their stuff is supplied to ISP's rather than to the end user.

If you stick to something from netgear, dlink, linksys you'll be fine.
