Me personally. This is the second time this year. Obviously I'm doing something wrong somewhere or just very, very unfortunate.

Gaping gash on hand, scratched and bruised, broken phone and torn jacket. All the result of drunk racing on bikes with a loose chain.

As I write this (while I'm supposed to be writing an article on multilayer nanothin film thickness determination using energy dispersive x-ray spectrometry in LVSEM) I'm wearing the most ridiculous looking bug-eyed goggles ever. My collegue snuck up behind me and put them on my head muttering something about adjusting the laser and extreme danger or something.

Everyday here at some arbitrary time an air-raid siren goes off, like the WWII ones. Then an announcement is made in gutteral danish supposedly saying it was just a drill. Why you ask? Well they seem to think it prudent given I'm less than 100 metres from an experimental nuclear reactor. The thing is if something does happen I'm completely fuct. Its just me and this polish girl most of the time in the lab and neither of us can speak danish so we'll always assume it's just a drill....

Thanks. We're officially "on a break". I'm not quite sure how that works.

That sucks. Have you talked to her about it yet? How long had the two of you been going out for?

I'm always really wary of people who talk about going on a break - it's really cowardly. If you want to break up, then break up, don't drag it out and hurt the other person more.

Yes, just before thanks-be-to-christ. Christmas here would be wrist-cuttingly boring. Project report has to be in for the 8th of Jan though, that'll be a fun deadline methinks.

    We have spoken, yes.

    Almost three years.

Well, I'm prepared for all eventualities, I think.

My girlfriend and I officially broke up yesterday. We met today though and we're both cool about it. We'll still be good friends.

Ah ****e. Sorry to hear that, man.

In a related rant, she and I went to Insomnia on St. Stephen's Green for lunch. Has anyone ever seen the toilets there? Basically, they're in a basement with a ceiling height of about five feet. Whilst attending to my business, I had to bend over in a most uncomfortable manner, whilst wearing my backpack. Boo to that.

"What are you gonna do with your LIFE!?"

I wish I knew. I also wish I could make a ****ing decision for once. This or that. This or that. I chose that. I now want to go back to "this". Maybe the grass is just always greener? But why do I need "this" to validate my intelligence? Surely "that" is just as good, if not better? Swallowing and accepting vs thinking and deliberation. Qualification vs fun. The paths not chosen, the possible regret of going right rather than left.

    AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH.
