You need to re-encode the files. Almost any movie editor should do what you want.

Hell, I don't really care, s'not my PS3. My Eee plays MKVs fine when I OC it. Oh, and I never mentioned that the source MP4 has ASS (yes, probably ASS, though maybe SRT) softsubs, which is where the whole problem is. MP4 has poor softsub support, 'parently.

IN OTHER NEWS. Apparently my Eee's draft.n (or "draft" no more!) card doesn't support 5 GHz, only 2.4 GHz, which is probably why it isn't picking up the N router. I'm going to switch back (for a 3rd time now) to the wlan card I have from a Macbook Pro, Broadcom 4321 something, which apparently supports 5 GHz. I would switch the broadcast to 2.4 GHz but the current setup is causing the nasty filesharer downstairs some problems and I'd like things to stay that way.

Now, don't get me wrong, I hate Derek Mooney as much as anyone else (in fact, more so, I'd wager), but in the least sarcastic way possible: have you considered going to the exam hall at one of the set registration times? Seems like it might solve many, if not all, of your problems.

    Blood tests. Incompetence. Hassle. Frustration.

Finally got sorted today though, and am sitting smugly in the now-easily-accessible library

FFS, 1-1. Every single time. I'd rather the game was goalless until the 90th minute and they scored then.. Defending isn't difficult!

This is true, but it'd be lovely if they'd secure playoff qualification today with a win, and then the last match would be handy. A draw today still means they need another draw midweek to be absolutely certain of getting into the playoffs. I don't like uncertainty going into the last game. :(

Edit: Wait, apparently a draw tonight guarantees it now - results elsewhere must have changed things. \o/
