My first experience of the 24 hour study space - no seats so I'm sitting on the ground against the wal...Hmm.

My first experience of the 24 hour study space - no seats so I'm sitting on the ground against the wal...Hmm.

It will start to empty around 7pm. :)

It was full up at 2.45pm last Saturday.

"Full" in that all the spaces were at least occupied by books and pens, not necessarily people. Last weekend I was waiting for a spot for ages, cursing the many folk who claim a space and f*ck off for hours...

Erm, the floor was invented for dumping other people's crap on. Back in my day students had more balls. The 15 minute rule is as applicable in the study area as anywhere else.

I was thinking about it, but I had no idea if it was acceptable or not, being a wee first year and all.

So assumedly the guys had more than two, and the girls had at least one? I think I prefer the new trinity tbh.;)

Yeah was there for the first time yesterday at like 11.40 and got a table. wasnt many left though. I can see what people mean about people on facebook and that. There were people beside me who came in, took out a few books, went on facbook for about an hour, went off came back about an hour later, back onto the computer...

It's a well established fact that women in Trinity are ball breakers

    According to library regulations:

Readers are not permitted to reserve seats by leaving their belongings or books on seats and desks. The Library staff may move any property left at unoccupied desks or seats for more than 15 minutes except for officially reserved seats and carrels.

Readers are at all times responsible for their own property.
My interpretation is therefore that you can randomly select a seat; sit down and use it for fifteen minutes; when the previous occupier fails to return proceed to shuffle their belongings with those of the other absent readers in the nearby vicinity and then proceed study away.

Chances are it won't be the JD herself, but one of her assistants.

I had a fair idea but I wanted to be sure, to be sure. ;)
Mentioned in the email it might be one of her assistants too.
Do you think it would be worthwhile bringing somebody else along?
Apparently, students usually ask their tutor to attend the meeting with them but I dont see the need to be honest.

Also, thanks again for the neuroscience stuff.
Those neuropharm notes are a lifesaver.

Cheers ISS, it's not like I wanted to use the mac room or anything. You just take your sweet little time fixing it.

Going to a research facility in New York next week... this required that I do hours worth of the most boring inane "Online Safety Training" that took hours and they'd quiz you on the most irrelevant details...

One was Cyber Security , during my "training" I learned that I'm not allowed have fun on my laptop when it's connected to their network:

    NFrDx.gif

Guess I'll have to do all my hating, gambling, ****, gaming, role-playing and nixers offline...

But I can browse "sales catalogs"... probably have no problem with me browsing catalogues of machine guns. FS america

Go and speak to the head librarian. I got off a fine by being nice and stating my case.... although that was at the start of the year and I was a noob.

But blame it on technology and you should be grand! ;)

Hey man, I was only trying to help you out with a helpful suggestion that you probably wouldn't have gotten a fine if you hadn't have taken out those books. Don't shoot the messenger.
