Stupid SHAG week almost being over. I hate the way that now I'll have very little to fill my days. I've loved running all over campus and (some of) the affiliates throwing condoms and info and people, and now it's all about to slide into the past tense, and I hate that I won't get to embarrass the **** outta myself and wear my Dr Love coat anymore. Stupid SHAG week only being for a week...

Imagine if ISS decided that bebo was costing them too much in bandwidth, and they blocked access from college.....there'd be riots......

Bwah! That'd be class! Though I'd imagine something like hotmail or g-mail is accessed a lot more, and is essentially the same thing - a non-college messaging system. Have they ever banned sites before?

You know, an item that classy and fashionable, you could probably wear the year round. It'd be a talking point.

ye know, i'd say it'd be talked about for maybe a week or 2, then people would find somewhere else to go...its only 1 of serveral sites offering the exact same thing. I think they should block it cause its just a rubbish site, that has some policies which i disagree quite a bit with.........

afaik college doesnt block any websites at all - which i like - you'd just be a ****ing idiot to visit some of them from college

I remember in UCD, famously, there was this one guy who was always using the college computers to look-up porn on the internet. Don't worry though, because this internet whizzkid was a master of disguise...

...specifically, the disguise he chose was a hoodie.

The mind just boggles sometimes, it really does...

tcd have excellent monitoring of what students/staff look at..... So... while they don't block anything its not hard for them to take action over looking at inappropriate sites...

They seem to be fair lenient though. Like only take action in light of a complaint where somebody in proximity felt intimidated (sexually or otherwise) by what this person was looking at. That and illegal stuff.

On a rant-moan: WHAT IN THE NAME OF CHRIST am I doing up this early? It's still FREAKING dark out. I cant remember the last time I got up and it was still dark. It's just not natural.... Damn fracture clinic and their obscene hours of work, it's the middle of the night like.

not that i'm aware, lots of them use java clients that don't work, but thats more of a ports blocked issue than a site block one.

(though while ISS haven't blocked sites the maths dept have blocked a particular poker one...)

O yeah , i've only heard one case of them doing anything in my 4 years. Its more to cover their own asses and being able to pin blame on someone if something goes wrong imo, like a complaint or that...

ARRRR, lost me damn phone, possibly in or near the pav. If anyone finds a sandpapered sagem myx5-2 that's held together with duct tape, let me know. On a lighter note, I saw a guy in a silver mitsubishi smash the hell into the fence over beside the pav, drag it for 100m under his bumper and leave it and the bumper beside the engineering buildin'. In fairness though, He did get through a pretty small gap at pretty high speed, and possibly arrested,

For what it's worth, it was a helluva post. And I can't think of anything you wrote that wasn't factually true, so maybe it'll be restored when Nietzschean gets a chance to read it.

Just because you can't see something doesn't mean it isn't there. I personally haven't seen "the post", and don't frankly give a **** what was in it. I mean, newsflash, hold the presses, "CANDIDATE HAS PAST".

I have heard, however, that its contents alleged that my campaign manager, a man who has committed no wrongdoing, and has not put himself before the electorate, is a racist. That, if it is the case, isn't just untrue, libellous and actionable, it's also the action of a coward, and a creep, who has never once, though given plenty of opportunity, raised any of the issues I gather he raised in the post with me. It's not as if I don't see him every day.

As regards what was said about me, it is, frankly, beneath contempt. From what I've heard is also libellous and actionable, and filled with "I was told by random person x that McGuirk did y..." kind of nonsense, - although the liklihood of my wasting time suing a jumped-up pseudo-ethical little toad like the poster of thos comments is low. That said, I withhold any further comment until I actually see what was written.

I am sure, however, that Enda will gladly explain to me his comments the next time I happen to bump in to him. And I'm also sure that his opinions will have absolutely none of the effects that he desires that they will.
