cheap eye-test / optician in Dublin..?

    Just wondering does anyone have any tips on this?

    basically I need glasses, haven't had an eyetest in 10 years but eyesight only deteriorated in past year or 2. Borrowed friends glasses in pub and then could see TV football game perfectly, also reckon I need them for driving

    but, I am completely broke :(

    tried googling but didn't come up with much. Are vision express etc that much cheaper than a local optician...? Whether glasses are designer or not couldn't matter less to me but maybe wouldn't be crazy for the old 80's NHS style frames..:eek:

    PS: feel free to move this to a more appropriate forum if one exists...
