The owner of a site I set up some time ago has let the domain name expire. It was immediately snapped up via register.com and now appears as a Red Hat Enterprise Linux Test Page, which is fine. However, many people trying to visit the site, not knowing it had been discontinued, have reported back to the owner saying it showed up as porn. I can't recreate this. It keeps showing up as a Red Hat Test Page to me. Anybody got any idea what's going on?

    Thanks.

Without knowing what the domain is it would be very hard to speculate....

The owner is a little reluctant to let me discuss the site specifically in a public forum so I'm really looking for general pointers. Wild speculation will do, as I haven't a clue of the reason myself!

How long has the domain expired?

It expired last March and was immediately snapped up. Since then, I've consistently seen the Red Hat test page, but equally the reports of porn on the site have been coming since then.

try to clear the catche you have and also use a different ip if you can.
It might filter the visitors by ip location.
If IE ip shows red hat linux...else....

Go to a couple of internet cafes and check from there.

I think looking at porn in net cafes is frowned upon tbh ;)

There's also the chance that some people are infected with malware which redirecting them to porn...

Get a list of anonymous proxies and try from them.

What about trying to get the new owner to sell it?
