    Nice & Nasty

    One of the first record labels to emerge from Ireland as part of the acid house and rave scene. In 1992 alongside Mark Kavanagh;s Red Records, Dee Lynchs Blue; and Holmes & McReadys Sugar Sweet nice & nasty pioneered Irish club music as the group of DJs linked by Charlie Heggartys (Bangor), Circus Circus (Banbridge); and Thompsons Garage & Vicos (Belfast) decided to take things to a higher level. Desy Balmer, Robbie Nelson, Steve Boyd, Steve Blick, Gleave Dobbin, Billy Dunseath, Jacko, Glen Molloy, Barry Wigham, Paul Masterson and a few others in one way or another influenced or inspired each other to forge what Desy developed into Nice & Nasty...>..>

    Since then the label has worked with Nipper AKA Kid Unknown (Warp recs), Matthew Bushwacka (the End), Dan Curtin (Metamorphic), Arne Weinberg (11th Hour), Fabrice Lig (F-COmm), Tomas Jirku (Canada), Nice Smooth (Canada), and as a promoter been partners wit Soma records (Glasgow), Marco Bernardi, Jim Hutchison, CJ Bolland, Nick Warren, Shades of Rhythm, Dream Frequency, Alex Gold, Billy Nasty, David Donohoe and Donnacha Costellos Minimise records, and Colin Dale.



    Desy Balmer

    Head honcho at Nice & Nasty, responsible for one of Irelands pioneering and biggest club trax Bolivian Angel by Ubiquity way back in the day 1992. Over the years has worked closely with some of Irelands most talented DJs and Producers, such as Agnelli & Nelson, Rons Mobile Disco, Spectrum is Green and Derek Carr.As a writer was pivotal in forging BBm into an all Ireland publication; been a stalwart with the UKs M8 magazine; and now central to the Event Guides coverage of underground electronic dance music.

    As a DJ supported the crème de la crème of world DJs such as Laurent Garnier, Carl Cox, Billy Nasty, CJ Bolland, Paul Oakenfold and The Prodigy to name a few. Played at Irelands premier venues and for the first time appears at Spirit, Dublin.Originally from Belfast now resident in the fair city for the past decade after sabbaticals in Miami, Florida (USA); Toronto, Canada; and London, UK.

    In Dublin Desy has become best known for his nights at The Kitchen (With Genius); The Mean Fiddler; The Temple Bar Music Centre; The Hub; and recently performances at Crawdaddy. Future gigs at Radio City, Crawdaddy and The Hub to help re-launch the nice & nasty website and celebrate the forthcoming album projects by Derek Carr, T-Polar, Tomas Jirku, Source Code and Desys very own pet project Beyond Belfast. Currently has two remixes out at the moment: with Dagham he has remixed Richie Parkers Brazil on KKDs International Project and with Produse remixed Cosmic Groove Transmissions Just Lookin for Q-Burns Abstract Message 8 Tracks label. Previously he remixed Yellow Pencil as Primus Inter Pares and currently working on remixes fro Chymera, Derek Carr and T-Polar...>..>



    Jamie Clarke

    One half of Dublins most exciting electro-dance act PRODUSE; the driving force behind club promoters MUTE POINT MUSIC; and part of the ultra-cool party crew HOSPITAL, Jamie Clarke is one of Dublins most exciting new DJs- Supporting Chris Fortier; Remixing Cosmic Groove Transmissions Just Lookin for Q-Burns Abstract Message 8 Tracks label; and releasing his debut EP on Nice & Nasty, as part of the 3X3 project alongside Derek Carr & Chymera, not to mention future gigs with CJ Bolland and Paul Harris (Dirty Vegas) securely fastens 2006 as the year Jamie Clarke arrived. No doubt you have caught him spinning at Traffic, Wax or The Hub recently and cant wait to get some more.



    Dave Ingham

    The Keighly warrior is one of techno's geat unsung heroes. Going back to residencies in Leeds Warehouse with the liles of Sasha, Carl Cox and LFO, Dave has been in and around electronic music for a decade and a half.His debut EP 'The Lost Midi FIles' was released in 2001 and recently he has been busy remixing T-Polar, RIchie Parker and collaborating with fellow Yorkshire artists Steve DUnne amd Mellor.Whether it be gracious funk and soul or relentless techno Dave is uncompromising as he is talented behind the decks.




    Psychonavigation present a weekly clubnight every Friday night in the Basement @ Spirit nightclub,Abbey St.

    The nights will feature a selection of Dublin's finest djs spinning Electro/Ambient/Reggae/Breaks/House/Hip-Hop/Dub/Drum N Bass

    We'll also be showcasing Psychonavigation Records finest live musicians weekly - Sean Quinn, Soul Gun Warriors,David Bickley,Ufeari,Ciaran Byrne..
