Just a quick one for the bro.
    Is a '01 Ford Transit a Category B vehicle?

B Cars and light vans - Vehicles with passenger accomodation for not more than 8 persons and having a design G.V.W. not over 3,500kg.

Not sure if it us under 3,500kg or if it exceeds is.

The gross weight is 3300 or 3490 unless high roof versions of latest version and thats proberly got bigger capacity then the previous model so I'd say you are alright unles its the high-roof version.

    Mike.

If it's a twin rear wheel model it probably requires a C1 or if it has reflective strips on the side or rear.

That's the model there (except she's an all metal setup....minus rear seats etc)

    So I guess he's alright on a B

    Cheers lads

Probably, unless he intends to carry over 2 tonnes of a load. The total weight of the van, occupants, load, fuel etc. (ie gross weight) must not exceed 3,500 kgs with a B licence.
