Straight forum

There's a LGB forum, but no straight forum. A lot of the Personal Issues threads seem to be about straight issues so could "Straight" be either added to the LGB forum (as bisexual is there already) or a new forum be set up for straight relationship etc issues?

    Cheers

You can't even spell wonderful. Nothing you say can be taken with any integrity.

Heh, reminds me of a friend of mines idea to start a StraightSoc in his college, just to see how the LGBT would react. =p

Anyway, utterly pointless forum if you ask me. Diverting traffic from PI to another forum means you'd have to have either another forum with unreg posting, or force people to post about their problems non-anonymously.

Allow me to get the ball rolling:
"I'm a guy. Does she like me?"

No. I shan't provide more information. ANSWER MY QUESTION.

I've always thought a sub-forum for "Relationship Issues" to PI would be a good idea, would make it easier for those in a situation to find advice thats already been posted on a similar situation. It'd keep the anonymous posting policy also.
Just because of the sheer amount of relationship type threads that are in PI it may take the attention away from lesser threads somewhat. Just my €0.02 on it.

Oh and OP, there's a forum for suggesting new forums here and maybe have a look at this before posting new threads :D

Oh great, another of of those "If Gay people want to be treated equally, why do they like, have forums for it and stuf!?" people.

You can apply the same rubbish to just about anything, I mean, I'm sure fans of Wanderly Wagon want to be treated equally, does that mean we should also have a Not-Fans-Of-Wanderly-Wagon forum, just to be equal?

Forums are for common interests. It's only wrong if you say, make up a forum that's not related to sexuality at all yet still ban gay people.

    Wow, you actually are insane.

What are you talking about? Care to elaborate or just enjoying a quick snap at someone for pointing out the silliness in asking for a "Straight" forum?

    Makes sense to me.

    PI does the job.

Although, now I want a Not-Fans-Of-Wanderly-Wagon forum because it sounds cool.

A forum for gay/lesbian/misc people only is a promotion of gay rights, not equal rights. Moot point. I don't think you quite got the idea of what the OP was suggesting. Try reading the post?
That aside, PI does the job. Pass.

how about a metrosexual forum for all the pretty boys?

  • Registered Users Posts: 19,396 ✭✭✭✭Karoma

We'll need to split more fora: "Gay/Lesbian/Misc. Guitars" for starters.

Can we also have other Mark Simpson neologism style forums like "sporno"?

Well, that's what it's there for.
or a new forum be set up for straight relationship etc issues?

What exactly would PI be for then? considering that 95% of the threads in there are about relationships, straight and the odd time gay also.

Read this thread to see why theres an lgb forum. How many of those threads do you think have a signifcants to hetrosexuality. What type of topics do you believe arn't cattered for, but would be in a new lgbt and straight forum.

Read this thread to broaden your understanding of what Bi-sexuality is, (heres a clue, it isn't almost straight)

The LGB forum was never intended as a gay personal issues forum, but rather a forum for issues arising directly from being Queer. There is nothing stoping LGB posters from posting there relationship problems on PI.

Like for people who fancy trains?

As for the straight forum,I don't really see the point..... PI seems to cover straight relationship issues and there doesn't seem to be too many people having trouble coming to terms with being straight so I don't think it's really needed.
