Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Delay logging on to new subnet

I've a new site going live using a new subnet. Win Server 2K3 active directory. Everything is working pretty much but on logging an XP/2K client on to the domain, authenticating back at the original site there is a delay of 1 - 2 minutes. After this delay everything works fine. I assume it's a DNS issue but I'm not sure what needs to be done. What does DNS need to know about the new subnet or could it be something else ?

    Thanks.

How is your DNS currently setup ?

is your new subnet using the local DC's DNS or your main sites DNS, give 1 pc a static IP and DNS entry of thr local server, see does this speeds things up ?

Wizzard, I've inherited this network recently and I'm not up to speed on the specifics of the DNS setup.

Tech, no local DC or DNS at new site so using main site DNS. Main site is 192.168.2.x, new site is 192.168.3.x. Everything resolves fine at the moment from new site, only issue is 1 - 2 min delay on logon.
    Static entries make no difference.

    Thanks.
