Hi have been living down here for the past few years but didn't socialise much due to work and study. Now that that's all behind me (i.e. the studying by night) started looking on Boards and came across this. What a great idea. My question to all is, When is the next meeting?

    Hi,

I lived many years away and have been back in europe a couple of years. I find it difficult to meet single people to socialise with. I am not looking for a date, just to make friends. I am a self employed professional looking for some fun. I am in my 40s, but a young 40s. Is that too old for your group?
    Anyway let me know more
    thanks

Sure am! Have nearly 25 new members since xmas which puts our little 'exclusive' club near about 150 in total at the moment.

I answered all your PMs! :D

Hmm. The rules for this private and exclusive group seem rigid and the upper age limit is stated as 40 - subject to passing the interview as well.

Hi Everyone! I am a Dub (don't hold it against me) and fancied a change in life, so moved to Cork with the job. Don't know many people, well who are not married or in relationship anyway...feel like Bridget Jones!

Anyways looking for friends to meet up with and get to enjoy the highlights of Cork.

If you think you could do with another groupie, please let me know where you are meeting next!!

    Thanks

Hold on now a minute, how many clubs are going on here?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 190 ✭✭TrustNoOne

How about we start a club where a few of us good looking guys get together and go out on the pull? Or a 'wierdo club' as autumndays would call it. Nothing wrong with it, just don't tell the ladies you're in a club, somehow I don't think they'd be impressed.

Criteria: 25-30 years old, reasonably attractive

  • Registered Users Posts: 48 AutumnDays

Sorry guys, I put the group on hold for the summer - but it's starting up again, so I'll be organising a get together end of this month. If you just PM me your email and who u are, I'll put you on the invite list.

Ah now TrustNoOne, I'm not that harsh. Let's call it a club for ... 'special' people. :D

Hi there welcome to the Cork forum! This group does not meet all that often as you can see from the amount of posts, still a great group though :)

There is a cork christmas beers being organised for this Friday (there are lots of new people like yourself attending), you are more than welcome to come. The link is here:

hi ya ive just joined this yesterday!i got a reply back to say they are meeting for drinks tommorrow night in town. Like you most of my friends are in relationships that have really settled them.I myself am in a relationship too but i like to have a life outside my boyfriend too.guess thats why im here :-)

You're welcome. Being shy is normal the first time. You will not be the new person there (in fact on this occasion I think there will be more new people than 'regulars') so if you end up not being able to bring someone don't worry as you won't stick out. Just make sure you get my number or someone elses before then so you are not wandering around asking randomers if they are from boards unless that idea excites you :D

    Hi everyone,
Kinda new to boards.ie and came accross this thread. Am very interested in joining this social club. Have been back in Ireland a few years and my friends are all settled. So the social life is disastrous and want to meet up with new people like myself in the same boat. Hopefully will broaden my social circle! I'm wondering is there certain criteria to join? Would a female, 40, professional qualify?? Who can i contact to get more info?

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,168 ✭✭✭colblimp

When's the next meet, peeps? I'm a newly single, 42 year old male who's looking for some friends as the last 6 years have all been about 'her'... :(
