IN ASSOCIATION WITH MICROSOFT AND WORLDGAMERLIVE.com

Today Xtra-vision in association with Konami, Microsoft and

locations across Ireland in September and will be co-ordinated through World
    Gamer Live's interactive website.

The Irish Pro Evolution Soccer Championship is the first of its kind in
Ireland and is a prelude to leading game developer Konami's high profile Pro
Evolution Soccer 5 European Championship which will be held in Ireland for
the first time ever later this year. Over 1000 football fans and gamers
from around the country have the opportunity to compete in the Irish Pro
Evolution Soccer Championship and the top two will have the honour of
representing Ireland at the European Pro Evolution Soccer Championship.

Each of the four regional heats taking place in Galway, Limerick, Wexford
and Dublin will play host to 256 avid gamers. The Top 16 players from each
regional event will attend a grand finale in Dublin at the Irish home of
Xbox 360, Microsoft's Atrium Building Sandyford, Dublin 18 on Saturday, 23rd
September. The dates and venues for the qualifying tournaments are as
    follows:

Galway Saturday, 9th September Corrib Great Southern,
    Galway @ 9am

Limerick Sunday, 10th September Clarion Hotel, Limerick @ 9am

Dublin Saturday, 16th September The Alexander Hotel, Dublin
    @ 9am

Wexford Sunday, 17th September Talbot Hotel, Wexford @ 9am

"World Gamer Live are excited about being involved in the Irish Pro
Evolution 5 Championships. It's a chance for the Irish gaming community to
compete at an international level and we are glad to promote Irish gamers in
their search for European glory," said Chris Griffin of World Gamer Live.

"In association with Konami, Microsoft Xbox 360 and World Gamer Live, we are
committed to delivering a great tournament which will appeal to the Irish
gaming community," said Martin Higgins, Managing Director, Xtra-vision.

Orla Sheridan, Microsoft Home & Entertainment Division Manager Ireland said:
"Microsoft is delighted to be involved in the first ever official Pro
Evolution Soccer Tournament in Ireland as Xbox 360 is the only home for high
    definition football."

The Irish Pro Evolution Soccer Championship is open to gamers of all ages
and is free to enter. Simply log onto http://xtravision.proevorankings.com
to register. There are 256 places at each of the four regional events

    Spread the word guys....

We're probably gonna let people sign up on the day - but we're pretty dissapointed ourselves - the top prize for the final is really - great.

    The overall winner gets....
    A 32inch HD LCDTV

    An Xbox 360

The Title of Official Pro Evo Champion

and the right to represent Ireland at the European Championships.

I thought these guys would be jumping at the chance - if you know anyone who would like to come please invite them down on the day.

Lack of coverage of the event the xboxness of it all would probably be the reason for that.

How did it pan out regarding five minute games? Does it get extended to ten at any point?

I signed up for the Dublin one would 3 of my mates be able to come and sign up at door. Is it free.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,534 ✭✭✭WarZoneBrother

there was one 10minute match against each person in your group...wish there where 2 5mins ones though then i might of actually won a game :D lol

  • Registered Users Posts: 168 ✭✭WonderBoy9

    Hi liverpoolKev,

Option 1 - if we get 256 people registered then yoru mates wont be able to come along on the day - saying that , 256 is still a bit of a way away. so they guys should be fine - but it a lot faster if yoru mates can register online - it means you can just walk right in, sign in and start playing...

an yes its FREE - completely FREE. Just make sure you're well warmed up - asn some of the guys in Limerick who say they're the best - we're knocked out in the early stages...just to warn you.
