The Irish Pro Evolution Soccer Championship is the first of its kind in
Ireland and is a prelude to leading game developer Konami's high profile Pro
Evolution Soccer 5 European Championship which will be held in Ireland for
the first time ever later this year. Over 1000 football fans and gamers
from around the country have the opportunity to compete in the Irish Pro

and Dublin will play host to 256 avid gamers. The Top 16 players from each
regional event will attend a grand finale in Dublin at the Irish home of
Xbox 360, Microsoft's Atrium Building Sandyford, Dublin 18 on Saturday, 23rd
September. The dates and venues for the qualifying tournaments are as
    follows:

Galway Saturday, 9th September Corrib Great Southern,
    Galway @ 9am

Evolution 5 Championships. It's a chance for the Irish gaming community to
compete at an international level and we are glad to promote Irish gamers in
their search for European glory," said Chris Griffin of World Gamer Live.

"In association with Konami, Microsoft Xbox 360 and World Gamer Live, we are
committed to delivering a great tournament which will appeal to the Irish
gaming community," said Martin Higgins, Managing Director, Xtra-vision.

Orla Sheridan, Microsoft Home & Entertainment Division Manager Ireland said:
"Microsoft is delighted to be involved in the first ever official Pro
Evolution Soccer Tournament in Ireland as Xbox 360 is the only home for high
    definition football."

The Irish Pro Evolution Soccer Championship is open to gamers of all ages
and is free to enter. Simply log onto http://xtravision.proevorankings.com

Oranmore, and I tell you the damn compnay couldn't give a flying dutchman about telling us stuff. They probably don't want us Xtra-nerds competing! Damn them, damn them to hell!

    My loyalties are my own!

I may turn up for this, depending on whether a friend visits.

They're thinking of entering me into the competition as a.... representive for the oranmore branch... I'm having none of it! Spending the day surrounded by seriously fat 11 year old kids, whose chubby fingers are sweating incontrollably just holding the pad, and 31 year old virgins, who are disgracefully nerdy (and hairy) is not exactly what I plan for my Saturdays!

Is this just for XBox players?

It's the same game dude. Can't go, friend visiting from dublin and doubt she would enjoy it.

From the flyer, it seems like it's only on Xbox360.

So, if you're brilliant on the PS2, you're of no use. Xbox360 only!

eeehhh.. different controls for the different consoles.

Any of you greasy folk embarking upon the attempt to be the King of Pro Evo?

The controls are practically the same and the controllers are likewise. I move from one console to the other barely noticing that I have.

I went. The controls WERE identical and it was the XBox version on a 360. There were about 32 there and 16 went through to go to Dublin.
