Anybody know of a simple PHP function which allows you to insert strings into urls to help with SEO.

    Such as

    www.whatever.com/32/the-lord-of-the-rings/

The number in red describes the product ID. The string after in blue is useless except for SEO.

I want to convert product names to a url friendly string like above with spaces replaced with "-" etc. Anyone know of a function which covers all relevand characters which should be replaced?

    Any help
