Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

right i think i would like to change to meteor from O2 to avail of the cheaper texts and overall savings with meteor. Im a PAYG user.

few questions though, my phone is an unlocked nokia n73, now do i simply pop into my local meteor store and ask them to switch me to their network and it takes 2-4 hours to switch over? or do i need to contact O2 for it to happen?

do i get a new SIM card from meteor which basically copys my old O2 one, will it save my contacts and everything else with the new SIM card?

    cheers for any help

    There is no cost.

Just tell them that you want to port. They will then offer to lower your call prices. If you insist that you want to port then it will take no more than 2 hours. You will be able to keep your existing number with the 086 prefix.

will they give me a new SIM card though? and if so will the phone contacts that are on my old sim card be transferred onto the new SIM card?

    cheers

They give you a new Meteor SIM. With an N73 the contacts are saved on the phone memory so you'll be ok. But I'm not sure if they transfer anything from the old SIM, never did with me.

Yes you have to get a new SIM card.

If you have an N73 are you contacts not already stored on the phone? If not just transfer them from your sim to the phone.

Storing contacts in the phone will allow you to use longer names, have multiple numbers attached to each name and allow you to sync/backup with Outlook.

No need to contact O2, just call into a Meteor store, and port over. Takes a few hours as said above. They can copy your sim in store if needed, might as well get it done. When I had a Nokia 3310 (not much phone memory), they copied the sim when I ported.
