Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back a page or two to re-sync the thread and this will then show latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Chimney pot options

Our roofing is underway and next up it supply and fitting of natural
slates. My main contractor was telling me today that the plasterer
needs to plaster chimney before slates are put on. We have two
chimneys since we have two corner fireplaces in downstairs
living room/dining room. The chimney blockwork suggests that
they are on the smaller side compared to some of the large
rectangular chimneys one sees on larger houses.

The builder suggested that we could choose chimney pots to
our own tastes and deliver to site. Given that we have invested
in natural slates and the house is on a fair elevation on account
of the hilled aspect of the site I'd want to be putting in something
above the average for a chimney pot.

What are the options here ? I'll venture down to the local builders
suppliers and see what they have but I was just wondering if
anyone here has an idea as to what can look good.

Do a google search on dineen refractory, they are a main manufacturer and supplier to irsh market. Have samples on web site, not too many mind you.

    Thanks for that Secman :

I paid a visit to the local builders providers and they have a limited
selection but the most decorative and expensive one (70 Euro
incl vat - fabricated with fired clay) is the Rook/crown design and
based on a poster I saw in the sales office it looks like the rook
    design from the schiedel/carrickmacrosss:

Dineen seem to do this design (or similar also).
