Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back a page or two to re-sync the thread and this will then show latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi,

Can anyone advise why my Bush crt tv is making a low pitched whine (not unlike the sound you'd get with the old RTE test card on screen but a good deal lower in volume). I don't think its coming from the speakers. The regular TV audio is coming through fine, but I have this wierd sound lurking in the background.

It begins maybe 2 or 3 minutes after I turn it on and stops then after about another 10 minutes.

Sounds like the tube is going on it... happening on my panasonic 28" but been like this a couple of months... could last a while but then again could just stop working today.. you never know, not sure it is though could be something else.

When you mute the TV do you still get the sound? If so give it a whack. Sounds like a ringing core on a coil. Should make it stop. If it doesnt you would need to open the TV and find the source of the problem, which I would only recommend if you are qualified.
Really doubt ur tube is going.

Yup, I agree with the doctor. It may also be the Flyback Transformer though the sound would usually be a bit different.

Ya, sound is still present on mute. Gave it a bang and it stopped and then came back after a while.

Looks like I'll have to get someone to look at that. Don't fancy opening it up.

    Thanks for your help.
