    Hi,

I'd like to put a gas fire into an existing fireplace - would the chimney flue be suitable given the fumes given off by a gas fire?

If not could you stick another flue inside the existing flue? If so any ideas on cost for a 30ft flue?

    cheers

If not could you stick another flue inside the existing flue? wont be required if an open fire /MAY be required for a closed fire, depends on condition of exixting flue and whether u will get lots of condensation. If so any ideas on cost for a 30ft flue?none/ could single or double skinned flue

    cheers

in either case u need to comply with room venting requirements, the shop will give u the rules

    Hi,

The age of your house and type of existing flue are important to know before giving an answer.

If the flue is old (pre 1990's) and / or shared with an adjoining property you will most likely need a liner fitted, guide cost for the liner €12.00 per metre plus accessories and installation.
