Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

0-0 at h-t between Limerick and Derry.

Winners to meet Shels in the final-Setanta Cup 2007 spot at stake.

As we've already played Derry twice in the Setanta cup, once in the FAI Cup and once in the league with a further two to come, I really wanna play Limerick in the final.

    Only reason. Honest. ;)

We've played Derry four times this season, and we've two wins and a draw. We won the league game and knocked them out of the Setanta, they knocked us out of the FAI.....

Or maybe you mean you hate pat's playing Shels? :p

Was at the game , in the first half Limerick brought Derry down to their level and frustrated them making it a real battle for possession in midfield .

Some half chances for Derry and nothing really from Limerick .

Second half the game really opened up and Derry were pulling Limerick apart at will , the goal came after some good build up play from Derry spreading the ball around before putting McCourt threw down the right he dribbled just inside the box before picking the perfect of the 3 passes availble to him finding Mcglynn's run who put the ball over the keepers head and into the net from 6 yards .

Not long after that McCourt sent Farren through(who was just in line) but his shot was saved and seemingly put away from danger but the Limerick defense hesitated in clearing it and O'Flynn finished nicely from about 18 yards with half of the goal open .

Limerick almost made it 2-1 a few minutes later when Forde pulled off an amazing save from a header which was fired hard into the ground(imo better than Shay Given's save against Germany) .

Derry killed off the game with the third goal after having applied loads of pressure , McGlynn hit a shot(which was going well wide) that deflected wickedly off a Limerick defener and into the left bottom corner .

Derry had more good chances late on but couldn't add to the three .
At times McCourt was incredible tonight and others just frustrating(his usual self really) but for me the man of the match was Clive Delaney , performed very solidly at centre half(especially in the first half when he had to deal with a lot of long balls) and equally as good in the second bar one late incident where he was late in the tackle where he might of been the last man(not sure if he was or not but he only got a yellow anyway) .

Honourable mention to Eddie McCallion who was also very good .
