Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hello,

    Ive have an .iso file of windows xp pro, i want to use it to do a fresh reinstall on my windows xp pc. So i burnt it onto a disk using cd burner xp pro 3 via the first option which is something on the lines of "burn a cd/rw or an iso image"

    Now after i burnt it if i try and open it, it has setup Roxio (another similar program to cd burner xp pro 3) as the program to open it, and it just loads roxio instead of loading the windows setup program.

    Ive done something like this before and as far as i can remember you have to mount the iso or something first but it was so long ago and i cant rememer so i would appreciate anyones help to get this sorted.

    btw if i try and open the original iso file from my documents i get the same result.

    :confused::confused::(:confused::confused:

    It sounds like you just burnt the ISO file to a disc instead of actually burning the image (if that makes sense!). Y'know, so it's the similar to burning a ZIP file or a RAR file to the disc: When you open it / Windows autoplays it, it's just gonna open with the associated program.

    I know you said that you selected "burn a cd/rw or an iso image", but it still may not have run correctly.

    I'm sure someone else will have a full solution, but try to get your hands on Alcohol 120%. I think there's a demo version that's limited to 30 days or 30 uses or something. It's an a$$-kicking drive emulation / image burning piece of software. Powerful, but also very simple to use if you don't want anything complicated. It should be able to burn the ISO for you correctly!

    you can use http://www.isobuster.com to check an ISO file without having to burn it

    free app to burn ISO's - no progress bar or stuff

    ISO Recorder is a tool (power toy) for Windows XP, 2003 and now Windows Vista, that allows (depending on the Windows version) to burn CD and DVD images,
