The kopites on twitter are claiming there's a press conference tomorrow at Finch Farm to announce Moyes' resignation and McLeish's appointment.

Considering Moyes is on holiday and Kenwright knows he'd never be able to set foot inside Goodison ever again if that happened, I find it very unlikely.
BBC's McNulty said earlier Moyes will be staying, and seemed adamant. The latest rumours just sound like the usual 2+2 stuff.

I still won't sleep easy until it comes from Moyes' own mouth. His departure would break my heart and while inevitable the way the club is run at present, I still hold out shallow hope that we'll find an investor sometime.

As an interim, how would you feel about selling one of your top assets to fund a couple of other signings? I've seen Man City mentioned as possible suitors for Baines for example (really don't see that happening myself, but could be good money).

It depends. I don't think we can afford to lose Baines. Anything less than 30m would be robbery for him in the current market. I'd cash in on Rodwell if anybody. 20-25m for him could address a few areas of the side nicely.

All signs are pointing to McLeish leaving due to a board issue, not to go anywhere.

In reality how many clubs host press conferences to announce a manager leaving and replaced on the same day ?

Congrats he served us well all the best with him

So next will be the Rodwell rumours. Well if Henderson is £16 million then I think £20 + million should cover it. LOL.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,132 ✭✭✭bazzachazza

I have no issue with Rodwell going he has been under used and so won't immediately be missed. Sell him for 20+ and replace with two players. Increases squad strength and depth at no great lose.

All this depends on what happens elsewhere with squad i.e. Arteta, Baines, Fella etc. I wouldn't start selling assets until the rest of the house is certain to stay together or under our control.

Consider this IF we sold all four players for what they are worth it could be close to £100 million. Now your 4 players down very good players at that. But you can pay ALL the clubs debts and spend 30+ on players to replace. Do you cash in or do you keep them all.

No one will pay over 20m for Rodwell, such an over-rated player even by English standards.

He wont be let go for anything else. We don't need to sell him and he's one of England's hottest prospects. Overrated is harsh in my view, he had a stop-start season due to injury. Anyone watching the U-21s last night will have seen the impact he made when he came on and why he should have been on the pitch from the start.

Jordan Henderson. If he can go for 20+ then no reason why someone wouldn't be stupid enough to pay us the same for a well known name. Considering latest report have both Manchester teams and Spurs and Chelsea chasing him.

Possibly... He'd have to return to the UK and seems to like living in Spain, so perhaps he might cut his teeth out there..

It's a shame Demba Ba is demanding such high wages. I really think that if he stayed fit that he'd be a smashing player for us. Looks like Newcastle will get him and take the risk on his chalky knees

Dont think we can afford to risk handing this guy a 4 year deal on mega bucks when he's got dodgy knees. Let the Barcodes have him

I hope the Everton board are looking at Villa and making sure they don't repeat the same mistakes when eventually Moyes leaves.

Even though I couldn't stand Walter Smith he did suggest to the board that Moyes might be a good choice for manager.

Roll on October 1st for the battle of the blues :pac:

Nice set of fixtures to start though. We should get 12 from 15 if were serious about top 4 next season.
