im sure its possible but if you are found out your ucd account will probably be closed as you would be breaking the "acceptable use policy". im sure someone else can give a more concrete answer than myself. my advice is- dont do it!:)

Actually on the topic: Does the firewall block Poker programs? Thought I'd heard that before. No mention of them being banned in acceptable use policy so it's probably just a question of the ports being opened. I'm living in Glenomena so will crack up if I can't indulge my gambling habit/earn some extra money!

You can't use Limewire to share with anybody outside your own VLAN because all ports except for http and https (which need to be done though proxy) are blocked.

If you use Limewire within your own VLAN you are liable to be caught. Be careful.

Just to echo what Red Alert said. You can't access any external servers, http and https traffic is filtered through a proxy.

If poker requires ports to be opened, then it won't work. But check to see if you can configure it to use http proxy. If not, you're out of luck.

I'd prefer if there weren't such threads as this. I'm not sure whether the acceptable usage policy extends as far as being a legally-binding document, but I'm not sure to what extent I'd accept someone overtly looking for ways to bypass the security protocol within the college.

I'm open to a PM discussion on this, though.
