Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

No pics but saw a blue M3 last night with the reg M3 LAD. The M was the Msport logo.

Could have had something to do with this being moored up near to where I saw the car. Triple 7, the 74th largest yacht in the world. Well worth going down to have a look at it.Yacht_Triple_Seven511.jpg

WOW thats nice, does anyone know who owns it?

Alfie, do you do nothing all day but drive around cork looking for interesting number plates.

My car reg is 9x-x-7401. Pity you cant transfer reg's in ireland. it could be worth a few quid to me from a BMW 740i owner

That's funny, I saw another Porsche in Ballincollig (just outside Cork) today with the plate 08-C-1911, he must be fairly annoyed he didn't get the 08-C-911 version! Who'd have thought there was such a demand for brand new 911's in Cork :)

An awful mustard coloured M3 (I presume it was Genuine) that I followed from Limerick to Charliville a week or two ago.

    03-LM-3

Or, as it was written on the plate...

    03-L-M3

I have a picture on my phone that I'll post later.

I saw this very car two days ago and the front plate is replaced with a shiny new 03 plate.

Might be father and son who own the two 911s. I've seen them both parked up next to each other a few times in by the college of comm. One older man, n one young... I rather the colour of the 1911 though!

Saw a good few distant foreign plates today, no pictures though.

One was a Citroen DS on New Zealand plates I saw in Rathfarnham, another was a Jeep Grand Cherokee on Californian plates in Terenure, and finally a Toyota Corolla with Washington state plates at Nutgrove shopping centre.

I think you're correct on that one, although I've seen a few Eclipse's here with Lithuanian plates. They're probably American imports though.

Here's another one of those "German plates"

    rabbitle2.jpg

I was wondering where in Germany Ä represented and then wondered about the strange number spacings, had a look at the tax disc and it was in fact an English number A398HKD, totally illegal spacing and letters! My guess is it is an attempt to beat Radar cameras.

Also saw 05MH54 on an Audi S4 close by, the 5 was "rounded off" a little to look like an S!

Remember years ago seeing the English plate A 1 on a Mark 1 Granada Estate being used as a service barge by Dunlop at the Phoenix Park Races. At one time when Dunlop was going through hard times they reckoned the plate was worth more than the company!

The digits on the right hand side of this number plate indicate that it is a Portuguese "Matricula". A bizarre combination of conflicting left side versus right hand side. Also I believe that this car is known as a Golf in all of Europe and only called a Rabbit in the USA.

^ There are a few cars in this country from UAE and Kuwait. Handy for speed cameras!

The learner plate just looks odd on it though!

Yeah....strange that the UAE reg car has an 'L' plate on it?!

Also, the '06' reg Audi may have an 'advert' plate on it as opposed to a real reg ...i.e. a made-up plate for the purpose of sale (i.e. an import awaiting registration here in the Republic). Having said that, I have seen the odd 'year-county-year' registration over the years on our roads.

If it an advertisement plate, is that Politically correct considering the reg belongs to somebodys VW Golf?

Didn't manage to get a picture but there was a blue M5 parked outside the office last week with a English reg "M5 DOA" I'm not superstitious but I'm not sure I'd drive a car with that reg. on it !

Damn. Thats less interesting than my theory that someone locked it away unreg'd for 15 years. Still a cool car though

Sure I saw a 98-D Mazda 323 Mk3 going around the Dublin recently. They too were made in South Africa until recently.

The corrolla might be a jap import because they might have been issued there before in Ireland
