Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Worth 145 Euro to upgrade to Dell Truelife???

Just wondering what the general consensus is on Truelife screens - gonna but a Dell Inspiron 9400, which has the following screen as standard:
17" Wide Screen WXGA (1440x900) TFT Display
But for an extra 145 Euro, I could have:
17" UltraSharp™ Wide Screen WUXGA (1920x1200) TFT Display with TrueLife™

I won't be playing games or anything so no need for intense resolutions. All I'd be thinking about is how it reflects light - is Truelife better for that? Or what exactly does Truelife offer?

My laptop has that screen, and it's the best screen I've ever used. It tends to have a bit of a reflection but it's only noticeable when the screen is blank.

I also have one of those screens on an XPS M1710 - and the screen is really awesome!

I'd say it's worth it, especially if you're going to use it for 3 years.

Yea id say its worth it aswell. But in saying that I only payed an extra 30 euro for the truelife upgrade on my machine. The screen is absolutely beautifull. The black really is black and the colours are really defined.
Only bad thing is that in highly bright environments you can see your own reflection in the screen.
