Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    hi all

i am using a win xp pro sp2 machine and connecting to my router wirelessly.

i have an older laptop in the living room downloading some things using win 2000 connected by cable to the router.

i had another laptop which i gave away which was running xp in the place of the win2k one.

i could connect to the one with xp using my network places no problem

going in my network places in my current laptop, i can see the win2k machine. when i click on it, it asks me for login username and password to connect to it.

now, my win2k machine doesnt have a login/password.it connects straight thru. it has a name, say apt4, but no passwd.

is there any thing i should do to be able to connect to it and pull some files?

    Thanks!

Set up an account on the 2k machine with a password, or if you don't want to do that - login remotely using the administrator account/password... IIRC you should have set a password for this during the install.
Other than that, I'd say there are a few things you could do in the local policy editor to allow any tom dick or harry to read from the shared folders.
