Need an answer to this question asap if possible

When youy go to your local motor tax office to hand in your application for a provisional license, is the license made up there and handed to you; or does it come out to you in the post?

If it comes in the post does anyone know how long it takes?

It takes about two weeks in the post, but if you go into the tax ofice and hand it in, they will give you a reciept, and you cand drive on the receipt the same way as on a provisional
