Hackney Licence

    Anyone know how difficult it is to get a hackney licence. How much would insurance be and is there a specific driving licence / minimum age??

    Any info would be appreciated.

    Take a look at the taxi regulators site http://www.taxiregulator.ie/ and also www.dublincity.ie and run "hackney" through the search.

    would you be looking to drive locally or do pick ups etc in Dublin City. Its harder for Dublin City.

    Also do you have any previous convictions . i think its fairly hard if you have had any previous convictions in the last 6 years.

    also you have to get a tax clearence etc and have two good reference make sure they dont have any convictions as the Guards check .
