Cheapest satellite option?

    My friend live in Galway county (Craughwell, between loughrea and Galway). He desperatly wants broadband so what is the options, As far as we can make out there is no chance of broadband via phoneline.

    Satellite wouldn't be the greatest option for games/voip afaik , there is some wireless action up around there .

    digiweb not out there, have you seen this other forum where he should ask about getting wireless instead of getting that 3rd world satellite crap the government keeps pushing ???

    there is another option - 3G / HSDPA

    Vodafone are doing a 3G bundle at the moment, think its 5gig for €50 a month or something. Not the cheapest, but possibly better than satellite.

    Also with the HSDPA networks almost out, we can expect (hope for) 1.8meg sppeds initially and 3.6meg by Summer 2007.

    I'm currently testing some HSDPA routers & WiFi spots in one.
